We are so pleased to share that Josiah has been awarded once again in the 2017 Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition (WPY53)! The competition seeks to discover and showcase the world’s best nature photography, and the panel of esteemed judges felt that our young photographer’s black and white image of a monkey moth caterpillar in Thailand was one of the 100 best images from nearly 50,000 they judged from 92 countries! We’re 1 year old! We’ve had an amazing first year at our Wildlife Art Gallery in the Crowsnest Pass!
We’ve met hundreds of fellow wildlife lovers from around the world and shared our art and the stories behind it with more people than we ever could have imagined. It’s been such a privilege to carefully package framed prints, flat prints, archival metal and acrylic prints, canvases and more to bring warmth and cheer to homes from British Columbia to Michigan, from Texas to Atlantic Canada, and a whole lot of Alberta too! We’ve chatted with fellow artists, discussed conservation issues with biologists and photographers, listened to stories of wildlife sightings from local folks and tourists alike. We’ve added new releases to our lineup, new artisans to the gallery, and even opened a second area filled with solid deals on framed open edition prints. It’s been a GREAT year! Read more
On a scale of 1 to 10 we’re at about 100 on the level of excitement we have to share this news!
As we celebrate the 1st anniversary of our Wildlife Art Gallery in the Crowsnest Pass, our art has spilled over into one of our favourite places on the planet (and the home to so many of our wildlife art pieces): Waterton Lakes National Park! We are delighted to launch a gallery of Waterton wildlife and landscape art in COGS Collection, our new favourite shop in the park! COGS is a collection of unique, one-of-a-kind gifts and home decor inspired by nature, and we are so honoured to expand our gallery to their walls! Read more
This November Jenaya traveled to Washington DC to take part in the 2016 Nature’s Best Windland Smith Rice International Photography Awards and see her winning image, “Ramscape” on exhibit in the Smithsonian. We couldn’t be more excited to share that Jenaya’s work is back on exhibit in the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History in Washington, DC! “Ramscape” is a favourite image of Jenaya’s both because of the story behind it and the fact it comes from her home stompin’ grounds (photographed less than an hour from her door!). Just as we were building up for the Grand Opening of our Wildlife Art Gallery in the Crowsnest Pass, we were contacted by a film production company about a short film project they were working on with Nikon focused on Josiah and his wildlife and conservation photography! [UPDATE 12/20/16 – the primary film and behind-the-scenes “Making Of” feature have now been released and have already climbed to over 1 million views and counting…you can view them below!] Read more
