Josiah awarded in inaugural Bird Photographer of the Year competition!

Josiah’s on a roll in terms of international recognition for his wildlife and conservation photography, to say the least! After being named the Young Outdoor Photographer of the Year in January of 2015, he has gone on to be awarded in Por el Planeta, Wildlife Photographer of the Year, and now Bird Photographer of the Year.

Josiah’s picture is also featured in a wonderful portfolio book published by the British Trust for Ornithology available here.

The competition is organized by the British Trust for Ornithology and Nature Photographers Ltd. and drew entries from more than 40 countries. The Young Bird Photographer of the Year division was sponsored by the Cameron Bespolka Trust.

We received the great news from BPOTY this summer, but couldn’t share it until this past weekend when they announced the winners and awarded photographers at the BirdFair 2016 in Egleton, Rutland (U.K.).

While we couldn’t attend the Awards Ceremony in person (we were busy at our gallery and Josiah and I were still recovering from our trip to Thailand), we are very grateful to Rob Read for sending us these pictures!

Josiah (and his mom and dad!) is honoured to have been selected for recognition in such a high-caliber competition, especially alongside one of his favourite bird photographers, Bence Mate.
