Josiah spotted this pair of Cedar Waxwings hunting for insects above the Crowsnest River in southwestern Alberta. Agile hunters, these birds can turn quickly and snatch flying insects at high speeds. Eventually, the pair took a break and perched for a moment’s rest, and Josiah composed this image against the muted colours of the river bank in the soft evening light.
